Thanks for all the websites, opinions, and vet responses. A couple
of vets contacted Sukie off-list and offered their opinions. As Dr.
Murray said, the employees in my vets' office probably made a
mistake. Rather than pull my vet away from more important things, I
will talk to him about it next Friday when I take Lany in for her
surgery.
I am positive the correct vaccine was given. I am equally positive
that the wrong code was put into the computer, and it generated the
wrong drug company name and expiration date. This being the case,
my vet certainly needs to know that his staff is giving out
incorrect information.
I don't think my vet was trying to cut corners, save money, or is
stupid. He knows what he's doing. In fact, I have been impressed
with his knowledge of ferrets. I should have made this change a
long time ago.
If it turns out to be anything different, I will certainly let the
list know.
