Subject: anorexic ferrets w/ nails w/ white spots
I am hoping one of our experts out there can help with
a strange sign in some ferrets who are suffering from
weight loss.
There are 2 ferrets, one 2yo the other found 4 months
ago outside. Moved into newly renovated house 2 mos
ago.Owners are ferret knowledgable, have been feeding
Innova, some supplementation with Ferretone, but not
excessive.
Ferrets have nice coats, normal spleens,
normal kidneys, pink gums, normal stools, nail beds,
skin, etc. Everything normal except for their claws.
All claws have little white spots, are very soft and
break easily but not evenly. And ferrets are very
skinny, and not eating.
So far all my vet is doing is supplementing with A/D
to
try and get some weight on them. She is hoping someone
might know off the top of their heads what is causing
the wierd nails in both animals. Could
it be related to new house??
THANKS!!!!
