Hmm..If I'm not mistaken scabies can cause foot rot in ferrets. You
contract it by coming into close contact with a person that has it
(skin to skin contact) and also clothing, bedding, etc. You can
transmit it to your ferret, but it doesn't go the other way around
(as far as I know). Regular vaccuming of the carpet and laundering of
the bedding is needed to prevent the spread.

For ferrets, scabies is treated with Ivermectin injections (roughly
once a week for 2-6 weeks). Those injections will also take care of
ear mites, too in case your fuzzy has them (since they all do at some
point in their lives, it seems!).
