Subject: next step??

While my little Spook is getting better with his appetite with his
chicken soup and sensitive stomach kibble, he occasionally has bouts
of green poop and is still fairly sleepy and inactive. my vet has
said that the next step would be cortisone ( I am seeing him on
Wednesday), and I am just wondering about any disavantages of this
treatment?? Will it assist in his absorbtion of his food (which is
obviously the cause of his green movements), and will it cause any
side affects?? I just want to be well informed before i make the
next move.

I was also wondering about giving him a bath while he is vulnerable.
I don't bathe any of my ferrets much, we have never had trouble with
fleas, and their musky odour doesn't bother me, but Spook is
scratching a lot (no hair loss though, except he is slow in growing
back hair on shaved sections, from blood work, biopsy etc, and it is
also cold here in Australia so i am keeping him inside - my other two
have their full winter coats and are fluffy and luxurious) Can the
scratching be attributed to anything else? He doesn't appear to have
dry skin, and as I said, no fleas or mites. Would a bath hurt him if
I dry him thouroughly and keep him warm afterwards, or is there no
point??
