Subject: Stopping Loki's sexually aggressive behavior
My Loki is scheduled for adrenal surgery next Wednesday. If it wasn't
for the infection arising from his prostate problems I never would
have guessed it was adrenal problems because he is only about 2 years
old and is showing no other physical signs. Well, that's unless you
include his aggressive sexual behavior which he started showing in
the past week or so. I am worried that he will hurt the other ferrets
(both female). I don't leave him unsupervised with Keiko because she
is a very small and wimpy 6 year old with Insulinoma and she can't
fight off his advances. His other sister, Tika, unfortunately is his
favorite prey. He bites her neck hard! He left tiny teeth puncture
marks once! When I tried to get him to let go of her last night he
wouldn't open his jaws and I had to pry them open. Am I doing the
right thing by breaking it up? Hopefully this behavior will stop post-
surgery before one of the girls gets hurt.
