Subject: Lizzie's eating problems - please help!

I am new to the board, I just found it yesterday when trying to find
a GOOD vet in the area. Lizzie is 2 1/2 years old. We have had her
since she was about 4 months and purchased her from a pet store
neutered and de-scented. She has always been a picky eater and her
weight has fluctuated before. She has never been fat but right now
she seems especially thin. I know that she is still eating but not
a lot and not the right stuff. She is on Amway cat food right now
(the only thing she will eat consistently) and I have try several
times to switch her to ferret foods. We have tried Marshall's,
Totally Ferret, etc. She continues to pick out the cat food and
leaves the rest. I read yesterday about the chicken baby food/
whipping cream. I did not have any luck with that last night. She
just turns up her nose and runs. I also started mixing
her food again last night. It is now a combination of cat food/
Marshall's and Totally Ferret. Lizzie has NEVER been a very active
ferret. She does run around a little when she is first let out but
before long is doing the "flat lay" around the house. I believe it
is due to her diet. We give her supplements daily and it doesn't
seem to be helping in the energy or weight gain areas. Any
suggestions?? I am getting very worried. She still has a little
of a tummy but is thin in the upper back (near the shoulders and
neck). We got a male ferret (Nick) at Christmas hoping that she
would enjoy the company after getting used to him. They do play
some and seem to get along fine. He is a chunck especially compared
to her. I am also wondering if maybe I am comparing the two and that
is why she seems so frail. She was almost grown when we got her and
we have got to see him grow (and grow). Any advice you have to offer
on getting her energy and weight level up would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks - Jennifer

PS If anyone knows of a good vet in the Mid-Mo area, we need one.
