for the infection arising from his prostate problems I never would
have guessed it was adrenal problems because he is only about 2 years
old and is showing no other physical signs. Well, that's unless you
include his aggressive sexual behavior which he started showing in
the past week or so. His other sister, Tika, unfortunately is his
favorite prey. He bites her neck hard! He left tiny teeth puncture
marks once! When I tried to get him to let go of her last night he
wouldn't open his jaws and I had to pry them open. Am I doing the
right thing by breaking it up? Hopefully this behavior will stop post-
surgery before one of the girls gets hurt. >>

You are doing the right thing - and from my personal experience with a male
exhibiting just those symptoms, its going to be at least 6 weeks before the
behavior stops - it will slowly ease down as the hormone levels drop. I would
also want to say that I'm glad that you are doing surgery quickly, as the
cases like this tend not to be a neoplasia but malignancies (IIRC, I've heard
of 3 cases, all males around 2 with this behavior, all biopsied and the
results were an adenocarcinoma)..If you can, get the affected gland(s)
biopsied - I would be interested in finding out if it is benign or not.

Once he's had surgery you will obviously keep him separate as he heals but
his mounting behavior will begin to drop off and then stop...

Best of luck to you and Loki and especially Tika!
