Subject: Blood test for adrenal

Clyde went back today. He was 2lbs 6 oz, up from his low of
1 lb 8 oz and down from his high of 2 lbs 9 oz. I was
debating exploratory surgery because of thin hind end hair
(recent development), aggressiveness in lunging for treats and
stealing from others, and just because I "feel" something is
wrong. The vet was hesitant to do exploratory surgery on a
ferret who obviously feels good (chased the vet around the
office and dooked for the office dog and cat). So, we decided
to do the adrenal hormone test at Tennessee. Um, I don't know
the name of the test, but I hear there s about 75% rate of
being good (25% failure). Hopefully, this test will rule out
adrenal or confirm it. I hope I made the right choice, but
was hesitant to put my baby under the knife when symptoms were
so slight and he had made some progress. He is eating kibble
now, but I am considering eye dropping some gravy to pile on
the weight in case of surgery.

Does anyone have experience with this test?
