Joan,
I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my sweet 3.5 yr old Buddy,
about 14 hrs after I brung her home from the vets, she had a second
adrenal surgery, the vet found no more adrenal tumors when he opened
her up so he closed her right back up, but it was enough to form a
blod clot and kill her. She had cryo done on her right adrenal gland
six months prior to the second surgery. Her vet and I thought she
may have had adrenal problems w/her left gland because she still
exhibited some slight symptoms, we treated her for awhile with
melatonin, but her hair never grew back, and she still seemed a
little lethargic, I wish I had done a bloodtest because that would
have shown that her adrenal gland was fine and also that she would
be prone to bloodclots. Did you ever find out why the first two died
after surgery, I don't mean to open up old wounds I am just curious
because my vet had never heard of a ferret dying from a bloodclot
like that and he is a ferret expert, he works with a ferret shelter
and he sees ferrets from all over the Baltimore region, so I know it
was not his inexperience that caused my Buddys death. Again I am so
sorry to hear your ferret died, they are such sweet loving little
furballs it is sad to hear when one has went to the rainbow bridge.
