Yes. It's really not an unusual postion, to have insulinoma and
adrenal neoplasia at the same time because both are so
common. If surgery is possible you tackle botht hat way and if
not then you treat, with the insulinoma taking precedence
because it is much more dangerous.

Eight year old Warp who was not a surgical candidate due a bad
surgical history is on her last legs now, but now because of her
R. adrenal growth (for which she gets Lupron), her advanced
insulinoma (for which she started on Pred, then Pred and
Proglycem, then Pred Proglycem and plenty of sugar), and not
from her friable small intestine (which the Pred seems to also
help). She is going because of her Lymphoma.

Still, she had more than a year with her insulinoma controlled by
meds, and she is getting a wholloping full 5 mgs of Pred each
day (in two doses of half that), without it causing problems at this
point. She needed to go to unusually high doses (at levels
where we have to watch out for things like ulcers) because
otherwise she would already have to have been given a mercy
shot.

I am not a vet, but have had ferrets in the family for 20 years and
ferrets are very uninclined to the negative aspects of Pred seen
in other species.

If your vet is personally scared of Prednisone till having a chance
ot leaarn more about how it behaves in ferrets then ask for a
prescription for Proglycem.

[Just saw your note about very soon going to a ferret-specialist , about starting Proglycem, and about the little one perking up! Wonderful! Hearing your positive news is so joyful. -- Sukie]
