Subject: More on Tigger

Again, thank you everyone for your help.

If I was single and working on my own, there would be no doubt that I
would do whatever I can for Tigger - I would be single and have no
financial responsibility other than for food, clothes, housing and
pet care. But being married and only one of us working, that is a big
variable that has to be considered. I am not sure if it was this
board or another board, but I think people are aware of our
situation. My wife is employed and I am currently going to graduate
school.

I just got home from the clinic in X, Y. We decided to get a
standard blood profile on her just to see what is going on and to see
if we need to increase the prednisone dosage. Both my wife and I were
concerned about the diazoxide being $150 a month. However, there was
a family pharmacy in Z, Y that charges $50 a month for the
medication. We were surprised as to why there is such a price
difference between where we live and 2 hours away - so we are getting
the diazoxide from there mailed to us.

We are also going to try the Lupron, but if Tigger isn't responsive
to it, then it is something our vet said we can stop. The doctor said
some of the thinness in her neck area was due to old age, and part of
it is from the adrenal as well; but her vulva wasn't swollen much at
all.

Although Tigger is acting kind of tired right now, I noticed a
specific trend of ferrets in general. No matter how bad of shape they
seem to be in, they act as if nothing is wrong in the doctor's
office. After they examined her she seemed a little restless, and the
assistant put her down on the floor and it was like a transformation -
she seemed to throw on her dress and do a song and dance for
everybody :)

I start her first dose of diazoxide tonight.
