Subject: sugar and insulinoma

I have read of ferrets who did best without sugar in their early
stages of insulinoma and some who did best with it in the early
stages when given in certain ways. Honestly, I don't know if it
can be said which ferret will do best with which approach, or if
there are differences among cases that may affect that, or if they
even would be different in outcome within a large study. Just
don't know. What I DO know is that I no longer consider it an
absolute "rule" with either approach, and I've used both. Go with
what seems to do best for a given individual and discuss it with
the treating vet, also know that the next one may not respond the
same way. These individualities are what put the "art" into
medicine...
