Thank you all for your cards and letters, they do help.
In response to questions from many of you, I have great conidence in this
vet. The first one was a different vet who over anesthetized {injectible
as well as iso} and my fferret didn't wake up. This vet use iso only,
doesn't fast before bringing the ferret in, he keeps them a few hours before
surgery and fasts in his office. He used a water type heating pad during
and after surgery and is very knowledgeable. My second ferret was allowed
to die because he was riddled with cancer. The vet is as surprised as I
am, he did a necropsy and couldn't find any reason , no bleeding etc. He
is theorizing a clot or shock.
Remem ber, this ferret was only two but he had been abused early and not fed
regularly or good food . He had an eating disorder in that he would eat as
long as there was food available and he was very fat. He couldn't run, he
just waddled. He had been confined to the cage almost entirely and had
broken his fangs trying to chew his way out. He had only one intact
incisor. He pooped and peed well, but he slept an awful lot and was losing
a lot of hair. At least he had three happy weeks with a lot of out time and
many neck scratches . He was very kissy and loved attention. A very
loveable boy. I'll miss him.
