Subject: Lydia!! YAY!!!!

I am astounded as I sit here typing this to you all. She is eating her
crunchy food. Of her own free will, on her own, in her sick cage.
YAAY!!!!! *proceeds to do a wild ferret dance of joy all around the room*

Saturday night I stayed up till 2 am so I could 1) enjoy the peace and
quiet *lol* and 2) to give Lydia a middle of the night feeding. Much to my
surprise, she ate for a full hour, the entire bowl of pureed chicken &
coolwhip I had prepared. I was so relieved I cried. Sunday she ate the same
mixture from the bowl on her own without prompting. She began perking up,
looking like her self again. The Pepto-Bismol seems to be helping, as I
didn't have the heart to give her another shot since I hurt her with the
first one I did. Monday she was drinking water on her own and again, eating
the food I pureed for her. She also stopped grinding her teeth. Now,
Tuesday, she took her meds like a champ, ate the puree, and now that I've
put it back into the fridge till next feeding, she is eating her crunchy
food!!!! She's trying to climb out of the top of the sick cage and is
bright eyed. I am SO relieved. The diazoxide seems to be doing the trick
for her.

I wanted to say thank you to all of you who privately and on-list e-mailed
me. I didn't mail some of you back, because I've been busy getting ready
for my in-laws visit this weekend, and I apologize. But I wanted to let
you know how much better she's doing.
And now, since my son is yelling at the top of his lungs and rubbing his
eyes, I have to go and get him down for a nap. *lol* 11 month olds. Such
fun. *lol*

*big hugs and thank you's all around*

Jen
