Subject: How wonders never cease

I was all ready to go this morning to feed Tigger. She did not like
the concoxion that I made for her (1/2 jar of baby food, 2 teaspoons
of whipping cream, 3/4 teaspoon Ferretvite, 2 teaspoons of
Pedialyte). I followed the doctor's instructions...no diazoxide for
24 hrs, and today start her on 0.1 and gradually build her back up to
0.2. Though she did not eat my little meal I made for her, she ate a
half jar of baby food on her own.

I gave her medication orally this morning before she ate. I thought
maybe mixing it with the food may not be giving her what she needs.
So I gently and slowly managed to get it all into her by putting it
in the side of her mouth. After that she ate the 1/2 jar of baby food.

This afternoon I went to the pet store to see if I could spot some
different, more managable ferret food - like someone said in this
newsgroup, any food in her right now is good news. The pet store that
I went to had small little pellets that looked like mice or small
rabbit food, and it said "Ferret Food" on the bin. I had watched a
salesperson just refill the bin. The label on the bin said Crude
Protein 39%, Fiber 3.5% - and thinking that these small pellets may
be easier for her to eat, I purchased a pound of it.

When I got home, I could not believe my eyes. I went upstairs in the
bedroom to check on Tigger in her "First Aid" cage, and she had
hopped up and started chowing down on the Iams food that she loves!
She drank water on her own as well, and I just couldn't believe my
eyes. I kept my distance so she could not notice I was in the room,
and she ate about 10 pieces of kibble. You couldn't believe how happy
I felt! Of course, I had to hug her and pet her a little bit after
she did so, then she politely informed me she wanted to sleep.

In the pet store, I saw a panda that looked just like her as well.
But I do not think a 2 month old kit would get along with ones I
already have - 2 at 3 1/2 (males) and one at 4 1/2 (female). Also,
this panda was a male, and another male in the cage (I would think)
would spell trouble for Shadow.

Tigger is a panda, and they are my second favorite. I like them all,
but sables and pandas are my absolute favorites.

I am getting pictures developed of my fuzzies on CD, so we don't have
to bother scanning them (our scanner is slow). I hope to share these
with everyone soon.
