Subject: ferret disease research

This would be a question for the vets I guess. I don't have
time to read daily what's going on, but I would like to know
what research has possibly found for the reason that these
little guys have so many health problems, it seems much more
than the average cat, dog, etc. I'm sure research is still
being done, but what has been found to date?

so many people have had so many different opinions in the
past, we've heard that spaying and neutering too young is part
of the problem, we've heard inner breeding as a problem, diet
as a problem, I have even heard that being indoors with no sun
light is a problem.

I wish someone would figure it out so we can have these guys
around longer. :-)
