Dear Dr. Bruce:

I just got back from the vet and my little Boo has a very enlarged
spleen, he is going into surgery tomorrow to remove it and have it
sent off for pathology testing. Everything else looked fine and Boo
hasn't been displaying any of the other conditions related to other
form of spleen problems. The vet has ruled that he has spenomegaly.

The X-rays that was taken about an hour ago shows that the spleen
wraps completely around his abdomen from left to right and partially
into the back area.

The vet has agreed to take pictures so that I can upload them to the
FHL library for folks to look at and for you to give your opinion as
to what may have caused this to happen so quickly.

Boo had a very restless night last night and today has been
consistently moving around, like he is trying to get comfortable. So
we didn't want to take a chance that he would need emergency medical
treatment as the nearest vet we could or would take him to is in
another city over an hour away.

We decided to rule on the side of precaution. We're hoping we are
doing the right thing, as we don't want anything to happen to our
little rescue baby.

Thanks for your speedy reply and I'll keep everyone posted on how he
is doing.

Also, thank you Sukie, I asked the vet about the type of anesthesia
they use and he told me they use the ISO.

Sincerely,

Mare
