Subject: Re: best kind of litter?

Hi,
My litter using animals (3 cats, 3 hamsters, 2
ferrets) and I all love Feline Pine. It was
recommended by other FHLers.
Made of baked wood pellets, it has no wood oils or
phenols, no odor before or during use (has faintest
oak lumber scent if you stick your nose right in fresh
pellets), very absorbant, easy disposal (do NOT
flush), not dangerous to animals, non tracking (no
dust), less expensive as used than many other litters
(about $7-8.00 US for 20-25 lbs), major scoop-ability
for poop scooping (and when pellets are mostly
dissolved to sawdust, just put into garbage or under
bushes as mulch and replace with fresh) and loads of
ferret fun to dig in (mine sneak into the bag of fresh
pellets to play). Company offers free wide slot scoop
w/pd ship/handling.
A 25 lb bag lasts us about 2 weeks even with all my
animals. Comparable in price to the clay and paper
litters. When scooped daily, even the stinkiest box
doesn't smell. And the animals don't get intestinal
blockage like they might with clay because they don't
eat the wood pellets or sawdust.
Hope you find something you and your fuzzies will
like.

Pam (who hates stinky litter) and the crew: Sugar &
Heidi(ferts), Kiki, Claire & Bootsie(cats), Ringo,
Paulie & Tara(hamsters), Dennis & Heather(family who
said stinky animals must go and inspired the search
for a better litter ;)
