i think clavamox is similar to augmentin, and augmentin does have some anaerobic coverage, not great for clostridium as far as I know in humans, but give it a try and if it doesn't work, maybe consider clindamycin- it does have clostridium coverage,but some resistant strains emerging in humans. I used clindamycin for my ferret who had a tooth problem and had not much problem giving it, it was the suspension with a cherry base. I am not a vet, so see what your vet thinks, and you can even run a search for it on the internet and see what exact coverage it has. Patty
