Subject: Getting answers to posts
First of all, do remember that NOTHING replaces a visit to a vet -- nothing.
Also, remember that if whatever the ferret is going through is something that
would send you for medical help if YOU were going through it, then that is
what your ferret needs, too -- hands on medical care -- and if you have to do
so on an emergency basis, then still do it. Just like us, ferrets need
emergency care at times.
Now, we all understand that if you are worried then you are going to be more
likely to have errors in your post, and we all do work around that reality and
respect it. Still, you are most likley to get replies if you take several things into
account:
1. Try to state clearly what is wrong and what your questions are.
*** If it helps off-set them feel free to put an attention-getting device such as a
few stars around them, or use careful spacing, or both.***
That way they are more easily seen than if they are buried in text.
2. Try to give essential information.
3. Remember that if you use a tiny font, or a fancy font, or use a light colored
font, or have very little contrast due to using a dark background then your text
is going to be difficult to see. That means that some of us moderators are
then forced to go into editing mode to remove your HTML and sometimes
even remove attachments which can make your post difficult to see, or may be
forced to even leave your letter for a later moderator. PLEASE, use plain text
and a reasonable font size to avoid delay and to improve the response rate.
4. Punctuation helps. Sentences, capitalized first letter of sentences, and
paragraphs all make your message far more clear.
5. Please, follow the rules. If you don't then you might be edited if the
changes would be small ones, or you might even have your post rejected.
6. There is no reason to send in duplicate copies of your posts unless they
haven't appeared within 12 or more hours of when you sent them.
