Subject: Seasonal Changes?
I have a 9-mo old jill and am a first-time ferret Mom. Within the past two
weeks, I've noticed some definite changes in my baby girl. She's visibly
losing weight and hair at what seems like a rapid pace. She doesn't look
emaciated at this point, but she definitely has lost weight. Her hair loss
is all over, but especially on her torso and the base of her tail. She's
also changing colors. She's also been a little more mellow than usual, but
that could be attributed to a number of other factors. The other thing that
worries me is that her stools have been intermittently irregular for about
the past two weeks. About once a day she has a BM that is either loose,
mucousy, or even green. But then her other stools are pretty normal. Eating
and drinking are also normal.
Initially, I assumed that this is just a seasonal change so I wasn't too
worried. But I am getting concerned, especially about her GI problems. Is a
trip to the vet necessary or am I being paranoid?
Thank you for your help!
