Dear Linda: While there is a possibility of Helicobacter here, my
first inclination would be inflammatory bowel disease (info int he
file section on the Web site.)

The mild changes in liver enzymes do not suggest hepatic disease, but
are consistent witht he low level malabsorption seen inIBD and
mobilization of peripheral fat stores to maintain energy levels.
