Jennifer,
I've only dealt with this once, but you are correct from what I've seen.
I adopted an intact hob who gleefully slimed everything in his path:
shoes, table legs, everything was graced with a few drops of potent hob
pee. It was hilarious to watch him at it. He was on a mission. :)
Slime trails everywhere, me following them with a vinegar/water spray
bottle and paper towels.
He stopped after being neutered, although it was not instantaneous; I
can't remember how long it took him to stop, maybe a few weeks? At any
rate, now he's actually the best one in the house for hitting the papers
every single time. He's become so civilized!
Good luck!
