Subject: Re: Shedding Season!

Hello Sara,
It seems that all over the country ferrets shed at
different times of the year! I am in Central Florida
and we get freezing temperatures in the winter, dark
nights etc.. and my ferrets have their own house and
natural light, yet some have 'winter' coats in Summer
and others have 'summer' coats in Winter!
For what it is worth, my theory is this: because
the ferrets are neutered/spayed at different times,
this could be one of the reasons! Also the fact that
we keep them indoors could be another!
When I kept breeding ferrets and they lived
outdoors, they grew their 'summer' coats in Summer and
their 'winter' coats in Winter, even in Miami, without
a variation!---Angela.
