Subject: Pepto vs Carafate

Hello everyone. My boy Tigger developed a stomach ulcer
recently. He was prescribed Pepto every 6-8 hours, along with
amox. After 5 weeks, no improvement! We switched to Carafate,
.75ml, 10 minutes before every meal( you cannot overdose on
this), per Dr. Williams suggestion. After 4 days he was eating
like a champ, and putting on weight.I feel so bad that he
suffered for 5 additional weeks with the Pepto. I realize
every ferret is different, but everything I have read, tells
me Carafate is the way to go. I hope this helps you all with
ferrets suffering with stomach ulcers.Michele & happy Tigs.
