Subject: post-op worries

First of all, thanks for the answer to my previous post concerning
cc's to millileter conversion.

As I mentioned, Loki just had adrenal surgery. This is a first for me-
surgery on a ferret. I guess I just need a little support from others
who have had their babies operated on. Looking at his 4 inch scar
terrifies me - such a little body, such a big incision. I keep
imagining the sutures opening up or his little body being in a
terrible amount of pain. I am worried about picking him up and even
worried about him running or climbing to the top floor of his cage. I
am trying to keep his activity level down and only let him around the
other ferrets while supervised because he is a notorious rough
player. Is this enough rest? She he be fully separated? BTW, he
isn't showing signs of pain at all and seems his normal self with no
signs of swelling or infection. His abdomen is a bit bruised though
but I suppose that is normal. I know ferrets go through surgeries
like this every day and pull through fine. Please, someone just tell
me that it isn't as bad as it looks!
