Subject: Some more test results on Sev with her complete AV heart
block; blood sugar monitoring

The lab has enough blood to also run thyroid levels so they'll do
that, too, to be safest.

Her potassium was slightly off but just marginally and in the
opposite direction that would cause this problem.

Her BUN is slightly off, but not enough to be an obvious problem.
Other kidney values so far look fine.

White blood cell levels are up but not by much so it could have been
just from her Pred.

Liver values and some others still need to come in and she has an
ultrasound on Monday. Our vet is a great guy and is going to pick
her up on Monday since we live on his way and that way Steve doesn't
have to cancel an appointment that day. The rest of her values
already gotten are within normal ranges for ferrets.

i don't have the actual number; vet had them but he was running over
here to drop in on her and he really looked like he needed his supper
so we did not keep him.

So far it looks like it was a hypoglycemic trigger from her
insulinoma so there is a chance for reversal if luck is with her, and
meantime she is doing well on her anitbiotics and aminophylline.

She is allowed to have very short walks inside but otherwise
restricted, so a bit less activity than the usual post-op
restrictions.

If it was caused by her insulinoma then it's all a matter of luck now
that her insulinoma is under control; it reverses or it doesn't. If
it does then hopefully she won't have her insulinoma come back. I
may wind up having to use the search engine to find the past posts on
how to closely monitor blood sugar at home.

Today has felt like three days with all I've had to absorb rapidly on
top of life and catching up on some essentials that couldn't be done
while Warp was ill. We are actively working emotionally on
postponing our mourning for Warp to some extent because we simply
have to for Seven. Don't ask. It's not comfy and it's not best
usually but we have no choice, given her needs. Sometimes you just
do what you have to do.
