Hello Pam,
Do you think your ferret could have fallen perhaps?
If so he might have broken or sprained his leg, which
would mean a visit to the vet as soon as possible for
an X-ray, meanwhile it would be best for you to keep
him off the leg just incase!
Confining him to his cage will help him rest the
leg and if you keep him in a very quiet spot, he most
likely will sleep and not want to get out to play.
You might want to check the pad of his foot to make
sure he does not have a splinter, sore, or even a
tumor that could be causing him discomfort---Angela.
