Dear Pam -

What you have done is a common test that vets do - palpate the leg,
and if they resist, it generally indicates pain.

The next thing we do is try to figure out which joint is hurting
(usually it is one of the joints - toes, wrist, elbow, or shoulder.

Then we take an X-ray.
