Thanks for the replies everyone. This list is
such a great source of information. I believe I
need to create time in my day to read the digest
every day. I'm now replying in chunks...

Mike and Roger,
You are both correct, I calculated wrong. Each
bottle contains 60 ml of prednisone (pediapred).
It costs me $26. You are correct that it is a
one month supply for two ferrets each receiving
0.5ml 2x daily. I guess I got confused because
when I got the pred in the beginning of December,
I got a bottle for Thomas and one for
Knucklehead. That was actually a two-month
supply. Big DUH moment when I posted. :)

Patty,
Thomas and Knuckles are pretty good about taking
the pred. They don't like the taste of it, but
they rarely spit it back out. :)

Hmm... perhaps I should continue to use the
liquid then.

Is it ok to crush and mix the prednisone tablets
into food? When I give my adrenals their
melatonin, I am very careful to mix the crushed
tablet into a small amount of chicken gravy and
monitor that they do eat all of it. Doing the
same with prednisone tablet would be very easy
for me and less stressful for the ferrets, as
they do not like the taste of the liquid.

Wow... that is twice as much as what I get (60ml)
for almost the same price ($26). I get mine at
the vet, so I will definately call around to the
local pharmacies to compare prices.
