I agree, the Gerber 1st and 2nd stage foods are the best to
use when feeding to your furkids. The 3rd and 4th stages they
start to add different spices and things to.

Check the labels. Packagers are legal required to list all
ingredients
in the food. (Though they can still get away with
ingredients
like "chicken by-products". ahem.) Gerber's Second Stage
food contains
only the chicken and corn starch as a thickener. The third
or fourth
stage foods may contain spices like the onion powder - I
haven't
checked. Make sure you're using the Second Stage food.
