Subject: Re: Onion Powder Gerber's -- new question attached

There is also the question of whether the edible alliums (onions,
garlic, etc) have actually been linked to anemia in ferrets.

After the possibility of a problem was raised --maybe 10? years
ago) we stopped adding them to things that we cooked for the
ferrets, but for the earlier half of the time we had ferrets we'd
have purees of things made for ourselves, and Steve and i love
onions and garlic. We never encountered a problem.

So, the question posed is this: is everyone just being careful
even after not running into problems with ferret and alliums in
case of a hypothetical hazard, or have any ferrets actually had
problems from them?

Meanwhile, yes, ingredients labels have to say what is in there.
