Subject: Rubys nerve damage update

Hello all,

Just came back from the vet. Cocoa and Ruby had there second distemper
and brought the ferretone w/ me this time and they hardly flinched:) He
says that he does see improvement from the day of the
accident. When you pull on her leg she will now pull it back under her
almost flat instead of curling her paws. She still drags her hind legs but
once in a while she pulls them underneath her but doesn't use them. The Dr.
said because she is so young (about 3 months) that she should be healing
quicker and to start letting her out for some excercise and moving her legs
around for her (therapy). I told him about when she would pee when I would
wipe her, we put her down on the floor so he could see how she moves and she
first let out a monster poop and then a pond of pee, so from that he said
from watching her do this that she has control of it. I don't believe he
sees alot of ferrets. I told him of all the advice I had recieved from this
list and he asked me where he could find it and wrote it down. Him knowing
how agile (sp) ferrets are he asked if I found this to be common from the
advice I recieved. I told him that there were a few that responded that
there fuzzies had nerve damage (told him the different stories) but most of
what I have read on here is from different illnesses so I don't believe it
to be common. I go back in 3 weeks for their last set of shots and checkup.
I anyone had any more advice about nerve damage please let me know.

Thank you:)
Lisa Pumpkin Monkey Ruby and Cocoa
