Subject: Lymphosarcoma In Younger Ferrets

I would like some response to this post if at all possible. I
recently lost my 11 month old girl "Kele". Four weeks ago my little
gal wasn't her bouncy self. The next morning there was no change. I
took her that afternoon to my vet. X-rays showed an enlarged spleen
and surgery was performed two days later. She was observed overnight
at the vet, and I picked her up the following morning.
Was was slightly active that day and was taking in some fluids
and ducksoup. During the following two days, she wasn't taking in
enough fluids and eating as much as I thought she should. I was
planning on taking her to the vet the next morning as it was late
Sunday night. She died that evening in her hospital cage much to our
heartbreak while blaming ourselves we didn't do enogh for her.
The histopath report revealved she had lymphosarcoma. In seven
days Kele was gone from when her behavior changed. My question is, is
lymphosarcoma being seen more in younger ferrets? She was a Marshall
Farms ferret. I'm also aware MF ferrets have higher incidences of
cancers. This has devastated us......
