In her book, Dr Prucell says about Carafate or Suralfate, "Do not use
with cimetidine or other antacids as sucralfate is active only in an
acid environment."

Everything I've ever heard about Carafate says to give it 20 minutes to
1/2 hour before feeding or giving medicine and it blocks absorption.
