The pharmacology info at marvistavet.com
(http://www.marvistavet.com/html/sucralfate.html) says that sucralfate
should be given at least 30 mins before any antacids, for the reason
Russ gives - it needs acid to activate. The page also says cimetidine
does not work well with it, but the two can be used together if the
doses are staggered by at least two hours.

Seems reasonable. The site also points out that a sucralfate dose
lasts about 6 hours, so you need to readminister every 6 hours for
continuous protection.
Check out that web site - it has some good info on veterinary medicines
and is remarkably free of lingo.

Nor am I.
