Subject: Re: Ferret with enlarged heart!
I have to ask a question here! On reading this post
all it said was that the ferret had a 'large heart',
now does that mean she had a cardiogram to establish
that she has a problem with the heart itself, or is
she retaining fluid to be put on lasix?
After being told for years that many of our ferrets
and rescue ferrets had 'large hearts, I questioned if
that was really a correct diagnosis and so a study was
undertaken (of which many of our ferrets at the
shelter became a part) to establish the NORMAL SIZE OF
A FERRET HEART! When we left Miami last year the
results had not been publicised as yet!
Mike have you heard anything from Dr. Burke or has
anyone else seen a report about it! Just a large heart
could not be the reason for putting a ferret on LASIX?
What if it doesn't have a heart problem? Surely the
dosage is .2ml not 2ml that's a big difference, I
personally have been on 40mg of Lasix for years and I
weigh 160lbs!!!
Maybe I missed something, so please forgive me if I
did, but I am certainly a little concerned here-Angela.
