I can't answer the question you asked as I've not tried it on the
fuzzies. I can attest to glucosamine chondroitin for arthritis in
dogs and Mothers. The difference in my lab X since I switched him to
a food formulated for arthritic dogs is unbelievable and my Mom can now catch a frisbee in her teeth. LOL If you are going to try it, be sure to look for the chondroitin part. Both my vet and Mom's Dr have told me plain old glucosamine isn't effective.
I know Pam used glucosamine chondroitin with Sonic and Dr Karen Purcell said that rather than use anti-inflammatory meds prophylacticly...

the lowest recommended cat dose. Much safer, and less likely to have
side effects. Only problem is getting them to eat it."

I only searched back about 4,000 msgs in the archive.. you might find more if you go back furthur. Good Question, looking forward to hearing if anyone else has used this on a ferret and with what result. Oh, and welcome to the list,
once you've posted, you aren't a newbie anymore :)
