I had the same problem with my new kit Bear. What I finally did was
first, try to catch him as often as I could in the act and move him
into the pan. If I found that he had beaten me to the punch, I just
cleaned the area really well, and used Marshall Ferret Off there. Now
he is pretty content to use the pan. I guess the Ferret Off makes it
less inviting.
