Subject: ERRATIC BREATHING PROBLEMS

I posted this message last Friday but I didn't really get many
suggestions from any Vets out there. I have an appointment coming
up this week with Chewy's Vet but I just wanted to get some opinions
from some of the Great Fuzzy Healers that are out there.

- Does anyone know what might be causing the rumble in his chest?
- Can Lupron and/or Pediapred cause a reaction like this?
- Someone on the list suggested that he may have water in his
lungs, what are the types of treatment for this problem?
- As mentioned in my email below, he recently got off of some
antibiotics (Amoxcil) but is it still possible that he may have
caught something?

Any and all information welcome.

Thank You,
Mary

Greetings All:

I have been having a problem with my little guy Chewy. Within two
months time, he's had these weird breathing problems on three (3)
separate occasions. All of a sudden, he'll start to breath out as
if he's trying to clear his nose but you can hear and feel this
rumbling in his body (it reminds me of when I had Bronchitis a few
years ago). It really does sound like he has phlegm in his chest
but these attacks have only lasted less than 1/2 an hour and then
it goes away and he's back to normal with no sign of the rumbling.
I put on a hot, hot shower and took him in the bathroom (but not
in the water) for about five (5) minutes to let him breath in the
steam and it seems to have worked because he would calm down and
start breathing normally.

His Vet is on vacation and but I called the covering Vet and she
didn't know what to make of it. At the time, when I called
nothing was happening and she didn't feel any immediate concern.
I thought it had to do with the Pepcid AC that he was getting at
the time but she stated that it doesn't cause that type of
reaction. Either way, he's not on it anymore and yesterday it
happened for the third time. He's also just finished his run of
Amoxcil so I can't understand him catching anything if he's just
gotten off of antibiotics. He's never done this before and he's
never had the flu so I don't know what to look for. He doesn't
have any kind of discharge coming from his nose or any other
sickly symptoms. Does anyone know what this is? Please respond.

Thanks,
Mary
