We have one of these cages as well, and have found some good tricks
to setting them up good(at least in a way that works for us, you may
not have the same results if you try)
Here is how we have the cage set up for 5 ferrets that we own, they
have their own room that they can decorate(mess up) as they please.
Starting at the bottom:
We have the rolling base as well as the plastic bottom removed
(although it's still on there in the pic below). The stand was very
wobbly so that was the first to go, and the plastic bottom was
removed after they got their own room to make it easier to use clips
to attach a litterbox at the bottom.
Inside the bottom we have some blankets for them on the left
covering the entire bottom up to the litterbox on the right side(we
use tightly closing clamps to clip our boxes on to keep Fria from
playing soccer with them when the mood strikes her), We use
rubbermaid storage boxes for litter boxes...they are cheap(the ones
we get are about $4-$5 each at Wal-Mart), and large enough for even
our big boy Duke(20"Long 10" wide and about 5" deep). These may be
a bit tall if your FuzzButts are still small, but small kits quickly
become adults that won't use corner pans.
Just above the box we have a single level, this is a good place for
food and water, except it can take some twisting to get to some
times, but it is the best place we have found down there.
Next to the level we have a hammock (missing from this pic, but it
would be on the left above the pile o ferts).
Above this is a full level made up of 3 sections of floor with the
center one having one of the Pink T Shaped tubes (this is also
missing from the above pic, but it is normally attached to the
middle section of the full level right above the pile o ferts).
(Note: you can also use a Yellow elbow shaped tubes pointing to the
single level below with the food and water bowls on it) coming down
from it.
On this level we have 3 homemade sleeping bags made of Polar Fleece
and they have ties attached to one side each so they can be tied off
to the side of the cage(Jamocha used to move the sleeping bag to poo
on the level). These are arranged in a U shape with the hole to the
tube in the middle of it.
Centered above this we have a single section of floor with nothing
on it (except a sleeping Duke)...they never seemed to poo there with
no corner present.
Above this is another full level of 3 sections with the Yellow Elbow
tube coming down from the center and the last section of floor with
a hole in it on the right but no tube coming out of it.
On this level we have a flannel sheet for them to curl up in on the
left, and another Rubbermaid litterbox clipped on the right side(it
covers the hole in the right section of the level, but there is
still the hole in the middle section with the elbow).
Above the left side of this level we have the last single level and
it has food and water dishes on it. And on the right side we have a
hammock hanging from the top. We don't have a picture of this part
of the cage.
With this setup we narrowed down all area to either sleeping areas,
eating areas, or litter boxes to reduce the temptation to make
alternative litterboxes.
The 2 litterboxes can easily be accessed, the bottom one from the
bottom door, and the top one I take out of the top by opening it up.
Now, if only we had a digital camera, we could have just gotten a
full picture of the cage exactly the way it is right now. But these
pics are just missing a few things, otherwise it is how it's set up
now.
Hopefully this all makes sense. We'll try to get to get a picture
of the entire cage, and post it to the list.

Russell,
It won't fit in the doors on 2 of the levels.
Those doors seem to be pretty useless, except if you are retrieving
a ferret or food/water dish from there.
Roger,
Yes, it's the SuperPet 4 story cage. I've looked for a ramp sold
separately and can't find one either. They've always had a hard
time
with that tube. They can get up the ramps fairly well though. I
also
keep a second litter box on the third level. I have problems with
this cage. Even though it's big, it's kind of limiting because of
the
holes (to the next level) and the size of the doors. Only 2 are
big
enough to get a litter box in. Keeping them on one level also
makes
it very, very crowded (for food, water, bedding and litter box). I
guess now that I know one month is not necessarily a long time to
have them litter trained I don't feel so bad.
