my cat, dog and both my ferrets, and i think many animals, lick their
human caretakers when they are in pain.
my ferrets will lick me when i am massaging them to let me know, "not
there" or "not so hard".
licking can be a behavior of displacement. humans are so vocal about
pain. animals are very stoic. often by the time they display what we
would consider a normal response to pain they are in utmost agony.
please discuss the possibility of her teeth or some other problem
causing her pain.
