Dear Tiffany:

Was this on surgery where the doc couldn't find it? That can be a problem. I have really not seen a case where you couldn't find it under the caudate lobe of the liver and look at the caudal vena cavva (the large vein) - however, it can be covered up with fat and very difficult to find.

If it wasn't surgery but ultrasound, then I would still go in - the eye of a good surgeon is always better than ultrasound -

however if it wa a surgical exploration, then you have two options - wait a bit and use Lupron in the meantime, or visit another surgeon. However, the last thing we want to do is ignore the characteristic signs of adrenal disease because the right gland wasn't identified - you know its still in there, and causing problems.

With kindest regards,

Bruce Williams, DVM
