I'd personally think that an exploratory for an adrenal neoplasia could make sense if that were our ferret. I've certainly seen ones with that signature sacral fur loss and no fur loss elsewhere, and ones with absolutely no fur loss who had adrenal neoplasia. The tail can lose fur for a number of reasons. In this case I think I might want to spring for a TN Panel if the vet was reluctant, but most likely I'd be thinking exploratory. Now, Im not a vet, but that is from long ferret experience (about 2 decades).
