Hopefully, I am not confusing this with another person's situaiton. Your situation is that you are away and you are dealing with a vet new to you but have called the vet who is used to this ferret. Right? If so, why not see if you can arrange for a phone call between the two vets. It might help the current treating vet to know details from the past, and the home vet wil be helped by being brought up to date on new developments. That way they can brainstorm together, too.
