I tested her this morning after a 4 hour sleep and she was 25, then I tested her again about 15 minutes after eating (about 5 -6 teaspoons of my mixture) and she was only at 27! I am really stressing about the numbers. I am not sure how dangerous the low numbers are to their body. Her number can be really low like right after she ate, but at the same time she actually got up on ALL 4 and walked a few steps! She tried to climb out of the cage too.
I would not suggesting giving lots of sugary stuff.
> I think a trip to the vet is a better choice.
***The vet does not seem to think the office can do any better. I told the vet I've been giving her karo syrup mixed with pedialyte and watering down her Gerber chicken baby food and adding a drop of Furo-vite, then giving her a little karo water in between feedings. She doesn't object to anything I do. I wish she would offer more information. I told her before the seizure incident, she's been on a mixture of Marshall food/baby food for months. I told I think Marshall is very high in protien because I think it has a fish base and said that must be why it smells so bad and she said if I didn't like the smell I can switch to some cat food, maybe kitten food!!! (In any event she isn't getting Marshall kibble now.)
> First, your vet can try a higher prednisone dosage.
***She switched me to prednisolone and changed the dose to .35 of 5mg/5ml.

***I asked her for a prescription for that today and she is "looking into it."
> Melissa has already had insulinoma surgery, right? Not long ago either, if memory serves.
***Nope she had adrenal surgery at the end of May.
I apologize for the legnth of my posts. I feel so helpless right now like if I don't do something quick I will lose her and I feel like her numbers are so low because I am missing something. I know the next step in the increase in pred which I'll do today at 6pm, and then maybe by tomorrow night I'll have the Proglycem. Am I missing something? THANK YOU ~ Lisa
