Still not a very high dose. Many ferrets with insulinoma are started at this dose and it can go up from there. According to one reference, as much as 2 mg/kg can be given twice daily. I've known some to give a whole 5 mg tablet with good results. Not that I would recommend that much.
Beasley did quite well on 1.0 mg, twice daily.
