In relation to euthanasia forget the numbers that you are getting at home and look at her life. She was still moving around fine and still eatting well as of a pers. com. last night. Those are NOT the behaviors of an animal on whom one should give up.

I'm with MIke and the others: she needs HIGHER PRED DOSES and she needs to be ALSO TREID ON PROGLYCEM.

Your home machine may test on thw low side as multiple posters have said.

If the meds hold her then you have the luxury of seeing about getting her a bit more stable before surgery, but if the meds don't hold her and she were one of of our's we would not hesititate to try immediate surgery in hopes of saving her.

First, though, you need to get those additional meds: more Pred and Proglycem/Diazoxide. Youmay find that getting the Pred ever 8 hours may work best for her.

In my way of thinking, what you do not need to do is to consider getting a mercy shot for a ferret who still has this much promise of a decent life ahead of her with more meds or with surgery. Give her enough of a chance first, please.
