Subject: Tail Hair Loss - NEED HELP!!!

I am concerned about my little guy Sebastian who is abou 2 years old now. We moved from Miami to Chicago just under one year ago. He showed signs of small hair loss on his tail and as this last year has progressed, so has his hair loss. I have taken him to the vet and they say he shows no sign of Adrenial disease though he seems to have lost a little weight since his last visit to the vet in Mid-November. During that visit, they did an examination, basic x-ray survey, chemistry panel and a complete blood cell count. Out of all that, they say that he is fine and to just keep an eye on him. He jumps around and eats as usual and the only thing that I can see that might effect him is when I leave on trips which is about once a month any where from a weekend to a few days. Can any one give me advice on what to do?
