Can lupron lose it's effectiveness over time?
Background: Weasel 6 yr. old MF female. Left adrenal removed June 99, right=
as much as possible Dec. 99. She lost a lot of blood and almost died with =
right. Vet doesn't advise another operation. We started 4 month lupron Marc=
h 2,000. We have gotten as litte as 2 months and as much as 8 months from e=
ach shot. The only symptoms this time were swollen vulva and increased groo=
ming, aggression. No fur loss except the very tip of her tail. She had her =
last lupron shot Monday Jan. 6, 2003. In the past 3 days her vulva has swol=
len twice the size before her shot and she has become more agressive with t=
he others at times. Does this possibly mean the shot won't work for her any=
more? Everyother shot the vulva swelling has gone down, not increased. She =
even gained an ounce. Has anyone ever had this happen? Are there any other =
options. We did try casodex at one time with no results. The lupron has alw=
ays worked before. Any suggestions on what next? I will call he vet tomorro=
w for advice. Just thought I could getsome insight on why this is happening=
